In that past, too many students and faculty have been unaware of the existence of the amazing Wesleyan Natural History Collections (including those in the Joe Webb Peoples museum) on the 4th Floor of Exley. This year, for the first time, we try to do something about this, and are aiming to make incoming students aware of these collections during the first year orientation, by organizing museum tours.
Our tours will be on September 13th (4:30-5:00 pm and 6:30-7:00 pm), and on September 14th and 15th (2:00-2:30 pm and 4:4:30 pm), meeting just outside the science library in the lobby of Exley. Look for Shelley, our giant extinct armadillo, and Terry, our deinotherium, while you are there.
And during this academic year, we plan to exhibit a Mosasaur skull in a study table in Olin library, moving out of the science building.
